I will be getting my passport from Detroit soon. Just wanted to know
1) What all would I recive with passport ?? Will the passport have any kind of stamp I need to check??
2) What do I need for landing...any photographs or any other documents ???
I need to land asap after I receive my passport and so need to arrange beforehand.
Thanks
1. Passport with immigrant visa stamp, COPR(Confirmation of Permanent Residence document), 1 photo and instructions about landing at a border or at a local CIC office by booking an appointment.
2. Take your work permit and bring all the above in #1. CEC applicants don't have to show proof of funds.
Do not sign the COPR until the immigration officer says so. They may ask a few questions to confirm your status has not changed, etc e.g. if you applied single, they ask if you still are, etc.
The officer will write the time you became a PR on the COPR, give you a copy, take the photo and draw a line over the immigrant visa in your passport. Guard the COPR with your life because you will need it to apply for citizenship.
