I am a Canadian PR and my wife lives in India. We got married in Kolkata(where her house is) and registered our marriage in Tamil Nadu(where my house is).
I am applying for her sponsorship and the marriage certificate that I received do not have our photos on it. I am told that this is quite common in the “Hindu Act” certificate. However, my agent is saying this will not be valid because of no photo. Has anyone gone through with the same issue? Can I get some advice on how to proceed?
Hi,
Yes, my certificate is from India. It is weird because i spoke to different people and some have photos and some don’t. So i imagine the IRCC is aware that not all certificates will have photos. Not sure why I’m told that without photo will be a risk of rejection.

Hi.. I am also going through the same problem. I am married in Kerala. What is your current situation? Is the certificate got accepted? Please reply.. thank you so much
Where I'm from, I have never seen a marriage certificate come with photos, so if yours doesn't have one it should be perfectly normal. You have to submit photos of your wedding ceremony, though, as a separate document

Should be fine without photos on the certificate itself as long as the names of both of you match. Yes, as other people mentioned, make sure you submit the requested photos to proof your relationship is genuine. You can include the wedding ceremony there.
