I took a break for 1 month to adapt myself with the new environment. Then less then 1 month to get me a permanent job.

I got my job after 3 months from landing Check canadahires.com and indeed

got the first interview call in 2nd week. Got the job offer on 6th week.

IT jobs are in demand if your good at what you do with proof then you good to go. I stopped writing cover letters as a whole and i get more call backs so maybe that helps too

indeed.ca , i get most of my interviews from there. Recruiters always go there to search for candidates. I would suggest you build up your linked in to reflect your resume with a picture and all that because that's the next place recruiters are going. Glassdoor is another good one

The only thing is they want to ensure your in town before they call. So it may be best to get your address and phone number here first. Another thing i notice they look at is where you located. I live in Vancouver so since i moved a bit closer to the city ive been getting more calls.

Im currently contracting for 3 different companies (2 full time) so there's enough work in the industry , you just need to know your stuff.

I landed a permanent job within a month after i received my PR. It's very important to network with the right people to get your first break in your field of interest.
Finding a job is a full time job in itself so you have to put in a lot of efforts and dedicate time to improve yourself/ your skills, confidence level etc
There are a lot of requirements in IT and if you have a decent experience then it shouldn't be that tough. But yeah having said that patience is the key. Stay calm and positive and things will definitely fall in place.

I have 3 years of experience as a Java programmer. However, most of the jobs I see in the job sites ask for way more experience. Is it difficult to get into the IT field around Toronto without 5-7 yrs of prior experience?

PHP or javascript jobs are always middle ground these days but im sure you can find something on indeed
