hi stephen _ca did the cic agent told you about the 200 limit for the noc 6212?..im very confuse if 6212 and 6311 are the same.. my husband is also under 6212 and he isn't eligible to submit pr application yet until next year but then the food service supervisor for cec closed..
also can someone advise us about our case, if we are included in the new rule that need to exit by 2015, is there any option for us to stay because we have a child that was born here in canada..is there any way that we can plead to stay?..
I hope I did not talk to a clueless immigration agent when I called this morning, I'll call back but he did mention NOC 6212 was still eligible and that NOC 6311 wasn't. Why would he say this? He even put me on hold and went to ask his supervisor to make sure he gave me accurate information!
The general feeling here is that that phone line is managed by call centre employees and NOT immigration agents. Several people have called asking the same thing and got different answers. The supervisor is also likely to be a call centre person and not a VO-type.
It makes sense for CIC to work this way I guess but it's definitely not good for more complex questions
Read the new operational bulletin 554, "Ministerial Instructions: Canadian Experience Class Applications" (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2013/ob554.asp). There it is stated, twice, that the 2011 NOC will be used to assess whether occupations qualify for CEC.
Now, apparently the OP has been told by the call centre that 'NOC 6212' still qualifies. It's possible that the answer they gave was technically correct, but the question was overly simplistic. Something like: "My NOC is 6212, tell me whether this NOC is ineligible for Canadian Experience Class?"
There is no "6212" among the six disqualified codes, but that's beside the point. These codes relate to the 2011 NOC, where there is no such code as "6212" at all. The code formerly known as 6212 is now 6311.
