Fixed Deposit statement as proof of funds ?

To begin with i have been already rejected twice last year because i didn't show proper papers and didn't know any better. Anyways, my university will cost me around 140k CAD (This includes housing,food,health insurance etc) for 4 years. My dad has only 45K CAD in his saving account which is definitely not enough. But has over 200K CAD as fixed deposit.

So i was wondering if a statement from the bank of the fixed deposit going to be accepted for my student visa as proof of funds. The fixed deposit is not borrowed from anyone and has been there for years.

Any help would be appreciated.

surely it can.. just attach the dx deposit document and his regular bank statement together
