My wife finally got her Canadian visa for PR sponsorship to Canada and it will be her first time arriving Canada. We have her passport stamped with the Canadian Visa but I have a quick question.
Context: She is first landing in Toronto but has a boarding flight to Ottawa and she is coming here alone (I couldn't travel because of my work so I will be picking her up but I am debating if I should book her a ticket towards Montreal and drive there or let her come to Ottawa and help out when she first lands.)
1) will she be with the customs/immigration officer at Toronto or in Ottawa?
2) Can I still ask and request to be with her when she firsts lands and will be with the customs/immigration officer?
1. She will land in Toronto if that is her first entry point in Canada
2. As far as I know it's not a problem if she lands by herself, no need to worry.
It totally depends how crowded it is at the time her flight arrives in Toronto, and how much staff is working. If no lineup the landing process takes barely 10 minutes. If there's a huge lineup there could be a wait of a couple of hours. So it's hard to say.
She will land in Toronto. 2 hours is more than enough time. She wont miss her connecting flight. If by chance she only has 30 minutes left and she is still on immigration cue line tell her to wave a scarf and run to the front lol.
a) did you get the flight to Toronto, then booked ANOTHER domestic ticket to Ottawa? in this case landing is Toronto as she would move from international terminal, to domestic.
b) booked all the way to Ottawa from origin, then of course landing is in Ottawa.
USA is the only country i know of that does international/domestic immigration.
