I applied for PR under PNP. I am living in Canada and have PGWP which is about to expire. I received an email from Centralized Intake Office, named "Application for Permanent Residence in Canada (PNP)", with the receipt of the application fee, and medical exam form and instructions.
I have a question though:
What are "first stage approval" and "approved in principle"?
We need these to be able to bridge open work permit. Am I not first stage approved yet? :

Thanks for your reply.
I don't have a file #. I only have Application #. Are these numbers the same thing?
I am really confused, what is the first stage approval - approved in principal, for PNP applicants who already live in Canada? After receiving PNP certificate? After medical exam? Or at a later stage?
(BTW, I applied for PNP under international student category.)
