I landed on June 19 and am waiting for my first PR card, which according to IRCC website should be sent out in the middle of August (57 days processing time). I'm travelling to Europe in September and need to apply for a Schengen visa. The process will take several weeks and a copy of PR card is among the required documents. I contacted IRCC call centre and was told that I should expect my PR card to arrive around the first week of September and that the urgent processing is not available for the first time PR card. That won't be in time.
Any suggestion from you guys would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Travel document can be applied in Europe that lets you re enter Canada without PR card. Or you may fly back to US if you have US visa and then cross border in a private vehicle (rental car is good idea) in this case you can just show your COPR.

Thanks for your suggestion. My problem is also due to the fact that I need to apply for a visa to enter Europe, which requires a copy of PR card as a proof that I'll be able to come back to Canada.

I know it's been a long time since you asked this question. I just got back to use the forum not long ago.
I ended up waiting until I got my PR card and used it to apply for the visa. Not sure whether it is okay to use just CoPR.
