First landing - Leaving Canada without PR cards

We are planning to do our first landing soon, but our stay will be short, so we will leave Canada without the actual PR cards. We will have them mailed to us by our friends later. Is it allowed to leave Canada without the cards? Do they ask to present them at the airport before departure?

you need PR cards to enter Canad, no one will ask you while leaving.

No one asks you for PR card for leaving, only when entering. I did the same and asked my friend to DHL the card for me.
