I am starting this thread to discuss about Business Analyst, Business System Analyst, IT- Consultant jobs in Canada. How can various job seekers can improve their skill by taking various certifications to increase their changes of getting this job. What are the experts who are currently working in this profession has to say about this role.
Certifications are good but you also need to network with the right people who are willing to assist you/ mentor you and give you the opportunity to get a job as a business analyst. Otherwise there are people in Wendy's McDonalds and KFC holding certifications in MICROSOFT/PMO/Prince/ITIL/CCNA/CCIE
Hey nice of you to start of with this thread. I am looking forward to pursue Business Analyst IT course from GBC. Wanted to know whats the scope of Business Analyst in Canadian market. and also if anyone can suggest good colleges/Universities to pursue Business Analyst IT course in canada for Jan 2014.
From my exp, I have seen many [ositions available for BA positions in all kind of companies.
So I would say that the prospects are good for BAs.
The real question is wheather you are a good match for these positions or not.
Many companies here list out the basic requirements that everyone has but they look for some unwriten qualifications...
If you are able to understand those and bridge the gaps, it would be a short and sweet journey to find a job...
Thank you for your reply buddy. Do you have any idea or if you can suggest something about pursuing SAP courses and career after getting Business Analysis course in Canada.

So specifically, what kind of jobs are available for BAs?
Are jobs more inclined towards technology (SAP stuff) or industry specific (Banking BA/Retail BA)?
I'm into Retail Banking as a BA and have completed CCBA - not sure if that helps or adds value?!
Do we have people on this thread who are in Canada working as BA? Their guidance will indeed be very helpful!!
