Guy - My brother in law is giving us affidavit of support. He lives in UAE. Can anyone please tell me if this letter should be attested by Canadian consulate in UAE or it will be fine to have it notarized only from UAE notary public?
You will have to have your letter notarized by a lawyer or notary public, whatever your country has. I suggest you find one who knows something about immigration law and tell them what you need and they can draft the letter for you. You basically know what it has to say from what people have posted here. The previous posters might not be on the forum any more to send you a sample letter.
I also suggest you DO NOT go to an Immigration Consultant first, they are going to charge you a fee then refer you to a lawyer or notary to get the document. Do a bit of homework yourself to find the lawyer/notary and save yourself some $$. Good luck.
I just wanted to share what we did with our application, actually we're going to submit our application this week.
I being the sponsor of my husband, I am currently on maternity leave right now and I was not eligible for EI benefits as my total number of hrs did not meet the EI requirements. Also I am living with my sister here in Canada. To make it short I am not financially stable as of now.
What I did is I made an explanation letter stating our Financial or Settlement plan once my husband is approved. I itemize it by the following info:
1. Lodging and Accomodation - i explained that we will live in my sister's house until we found an apartment to live in. Then I also provide a letter from my sisters and her husband - signed by them.
2. Financial circumstances- i explained everything.. i'm still employed but on maternity leave, since I completed a 10month course here for Logistics and Supply Chain Management.. I included the email of my school employment specialist that she will help me on my job searching after my mat leave. Also, i mentioned that since PR application processing will take several months, my husbands severance pay for 25yrs of work service amounting to xxxxxxx will use as our starting for 3-4 months expenses once my husband is here.
3. Plans in finding work in Winnipeg for my husband.- I detailed all our plans in finding work for my husband...
Also, we provided an essay to prove that our relationship is genuine and on going.. about 4 pages..
I hope that I will approve as a sponsor even if I am not financially stable as of now and pregnant with twins.. i just came back here in Canada for a vacation from our home country.. We will just try our luck...
I am having the similar question to financial part on the form of IMM 5589. Can you please update your plan works and gets your husband PR? My partner and I live in England at this momnet. We are planning on moving back in Vancouver in October but my application might submit in September. I am worried about the financial supporting documents.

Guys - My wife is sponsoring me under family class. She has recently moved to Canada so she is still looking for the job. We don't want to waste time and submit our application this week. As she is not working in Canada and does not have a bank balance, what should be the best response to the question 5 of checklist IMM5533. " if you are not working in Canada, provide other documentation showing that you can support the person(s) you are sponsoring. This must include detailed explanation of how you plan to support yourself and the sponsored person on separate piece of paper"
Brother if your wife qualified from Canada or she used too to do job in canada. Write a letter in which she mentioned I am qualified form canada or I used 2 do work in before my marriage and I will continue my carrier in that field. Now am searching for job. Also my husband is a qualification or exp. and he will do work in his field. Letter of support attached from sponsor parents.(Tell your parents in law to write a letter in which they mentioned that they will support both of you in initial time period until unless you people will settle down. ) I hope it will help you.
