I have been accepted to study a PhD in Ottawa.Yayy. I have a question regarding proof of Funds and I would be most grateful if you could give me a hand!
From what I've been reading, you require Tuition fees (17,500 in my case )+ 10k living expenses for a year.
As a PhD can last 4-5 years, my question is, when I apply for my VISA do I have to prove that I could pay my first year of studies (27,500) or the 4 years (127,500*4=10,000).
I have some funding from my co-supervisors (20,000 a year*4=80,000), some savings myself, and then my parents are going to help me as well. Also, hopefully, as I progress through my PhD and have more publications, I'll be able to get more scholarships.
I'm just a bit confused about the financial proof. I could do with some help, please
Usually you need to prove that you can afford the first year. I would include any information about the funding you will likely get from the university/TAing. The people reviewing the visas are aware that PhDs usually come with funding.
Hi everyone. I have been admitted to the PhD in neuroscience program in Western University. I have already sent all the documents for the study permuta but I have a doubt and I would like to know if you could help me. As proof of financial resources I sent my bank statement with approx 5000 CAD and the offer of admission signed by my potential supervisor. In this letter he specifies that I Will receive a funding package of minimum 27000 CAD. Do you think these documents are enough to prove the financial aspect of the study permit application? Thanks
