I am an international student. My university does not allow registration without clearing a balance. My family was unable to clear the balance on time (a lot of other financial urgencies needed to be dealt with) and thus my CAQ and study permit expired before I was able to renew them. I needed documents from school before I could renew my documents, and they will not give them unless registration and balance are cleared. About three weeks after expiry, I registered for my courses and was able to apply to renew my CAQ. I understand that CAQ comes before study permit, so I am out of time for both. I applied for CAQ anyway and I am awaiting a response and then I will apply for my study permit + restoration after. My only issue is that I am currently registered for this fall and been attending classes and it's likely my documents will not make it on time (esp study permit). Should I pull out of my current classes or wait and hope for a miracle? It is my final year, I am so anxious about my future in Canada as well due to all this.

There is someone on here who also had a simmilar situation who said he went to the border and they gave him 6 months sp even though he didn't have new CAQ. But I dont know what the risks are there.
The issue is that I need at least 8 months (fall and winter) to complete my studies, so even if that was a possibility, it might not work out. I've decided to wait for the CAQ and then get a study permit and restoration after and hopefully plead my case for not being able to be in school this semester. It's time-consuming and pushes the completion of my studies but its better than hoping to catch up with classes without a permit.
Hello, I am back, my CAQ was delayed and my 90 days are almost up. I withdrew from all my classes. I will apply for my study permit and include an explanation letter. I am scared I will not get the SP in time for the Winter semester. This is whole situation has been so depressing for me. I would like to know if there are any other avenues to go about getting an SP sooner than 99 days. Does going to the border work for all nationalities? I am not American.
Someone also told me to leave Canada and apply for SP outside of Canada since it will take a shorter period but I will also be asked if I stayed in Canada for a period that I was not meant to be here i,e after the expiry of my SP. This seems a bit risky, any suggestions?

Unfortunately, my CAQ got rejected due to lack of enough funds, would it be better to apply for another CAQ or seek administrative review? I feel extremely discouraged. I would also like to know how long the administrative review takes, or would it be faster to re-apply again for the CAQ instead?

I'm not familiar with the CAQ administrative review process but if you were correctly refused for lack of funds, there probably isn't much hope to a review or to re-applying.
