I'm in the process of downloading and filling in the forms from the CIC website. Problem is, it seems that the 'fillable' pdf files are not so fillable after all, as the font set by default is too big and I can't type a full sentence or the answer to 90% of the questions. I'm not computer illiterate or anything like that, but can't get around this one. Has anyone been able to reduce the font on the forms? Would it be ok to send them in half typed / half hand-written?
You can't tamper with the forms. Do the best that you can and if an answer really can't fit, supply the details on a separate sheet. Don't attempt to hand write the forms that have a "validate" function. You are trying to make it as easy as possible for the visa office to handle the data, to avoid extra delay.
Yes, I'm using the latest version available, but even then something as simple as "University of Southampton" or "See Appendix page 1" doesn't fit. I was wondering if others have had the same type of problem.
Do yourself a favor and NOT use adobe, foxit is the best I found while getting my application done. Some earlier versions of foxit may even allow you to continue editing the forms after saving them once. So you don't have to sit through and fill the form in one go..
