Filing taxes

Hello everyone. I have a question about filing my Canadian taxes. I am a Canadian citizen, and I am currently in the process of sponsoring my husband for his PR. He does not have his work permit, and has not made any money in Canada. I am just curious about filing our taxes. Because he has not made any money in Canada, do we file married, and separate? Or can we file married, joint. I’m just confused about filing my taxes this year because we just married November 17th of 2018. Any suggestion should or information would be appreciated! Thanks!

I called CRA on same case. My wife is in Ukraine and I am working to bring her to Canada.

I called this number and told them I am married but wife is not a resident of Canada 1-800-387-1193

It is very easy to do by phone.

Also, suggestion u need to inform Health Card guys as well
