I am a US citizen filing for PR as a spouse of a Canadian citizen. I am also applying for an open work permit so I can be eligible to work for a Canadian employer but in the meantime am telecommuting for my US-based employer (working with US customers, being paid in US dollars).
My question is, will putting my current US employment on my PR application create any issues with the government? I do know that long distance (by telephone or Internet) work done by a temporary resident whose employer is outside Canada and who is remunerated from outside Canada is not considered as work in the eyes of Canadian government, but still would like to find out if anyone has been in a similar boat and whether they had any issues.
