Has anyone ever done this? CBSA screwed up twice when we re-entered the country. Once by filling out our B-4 "goods to follow" form at the airport and again when I was clearing our shipment from overseas. Our form was filled out incorrectly and the officer clearing our shipment gave us incorrect information regarding my husband's RO with regard to his PR. It was clear it was done in attempt to threaten us. Everyone makes mistakes but, I was really uncomfortable with the lack of professionalism displayed when I asked the officer to explain and her answer was "I'm not going to debate immigration rules." Is there an ombudsman to file a complaint with?
I am in a position to make a complaint. I am a citizen and I am a native speaker of both of our national languages. I wouldn't want them to do this to anyone one else let alone someone already nervous, foreign, and/or not a native speaker. It's not right. I expect professionalism from someone tasked with such an important job.
Officers may know less than you can image. I went to local office to apply for a new passport for my kid and all three times was refused by three different officers. They believed as we moved to US we can only apply by mail or only if the kid was right now in Canada. Had to speak with manager to let me submit in person....
