File Transfer from Canadian Visa office in Manila to Buffalo office

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any idea if I transfer my file (I was sponsored by my daughter under the Family Class sponsorship) from Canadian Visa Office in Manila to Canadian Visa Office in Buffalo, will my processing time start all over again? I am in Canada right now ( with my husband with a valid toursit visa) for more than 1 year and I heard if I stay in canada more than 1 year I can have my file transfer to Buffalo because considering Buffalo has a shorter processing time which is 19 months compare to the 30 months with Manila. I submitted and received a receipt letter from Manila office last April 2010 for my application. Does any one know if I transfer it to Buffalo, will I start all over again? or will it count the 10 months period the manila embassy started and buffalo will continue the remaining 9 months?

I don't want to transfer my file and later on realize it made my papers process longer. Please any idea about file transferring?

CHC doesn't transfer files except for "program integrity"

Thanks for the reply. What does it mean "program integrity"? I thought if I stay in Canada for more than 1 year already, we are eligible to have our file transfer to other visa offices near us.

No, if you were admitted to Canada for 1 year and then submitted your application, you could have at that time selected Buffalo. Once an office is selected, only CHC/CIC will transfer a file, not on the clients request.
