Hi all
I have received the 120 days letter and I am in the process of gathering documents to send off to the nearest CHC post. I visited http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/pdf/kits/guides/E37023.pdf to ensure that I am on the right path and just saw ‘Fee Payment’ (no. 13 on the checklist) which has kind of got me confused. I sent CA$550 with my initial application to Nova Scotia and I knew that I have to pay something like the same amount again but I wasn’t sure when. Does the above link suggest that another bank draft also has to accompany my detailed paperwork to London? I was under the impression that the 2nd payment will have to be made some time later on after the application has been decided upon.
Regards
You are right. You do not have to pay it until your PR is granted. However, it may delay your application by a couple of months that they have to ask you to pay this fee before they can grant you the PR. It's $490

oh so I take thar its completely up to me then. Thats great. I mean I dont mind a few months delay cuz I wana buy as much time as possible before having to move or land in Canada (work issues you know). But anyway do appreciate your reply Leon.
@ Leon, I beg to differ here. When I sent in the full application in March, the New Delhi visa office specific instructions did not mention anything about the RPRF fees; however, they have put in a new version in April 2009 which clearly says that "You must include a bank draft payable to the Canadian High Commission for the Right of permanent residence fee for yourself and all accompanying family members." So, I'm guessing this is an amendment to the fast track process.
@ adnan_hsn, Please do as per the instructions, if you can raise the money somehow. In this process, it's too early to say what they will do if you do not follow that instruction. What if they decide to just refuse the application because instructions weren't followed? Why take that chance? Good luck!
@charmeuse - pls check Narinder1981's thread and his timelines on trackitt. Under the new process, it does not seem necessary to send the PFPR fee with the complete set.
I believe, it will be good to send only if you want a faster processing. But, ideally it should ne be required at this point.
Can you pls post the link to the ammendment you have mentioned. I did not find it on CHC-ND's site.
My particular interest is because I need to send my set asap and am only waiting for my IELTS result.
here's the link: http://www.ci.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/E37029.pdf
I think Narinder sent in his full set before this new instruction came into being. If you check on the first page of this, you will see "IMM 7029 E (04-2009)"
Hey, thanks for sharing the latest version. I was myself going to use the old checklist.
but, shux. I have to arrange for $980 now itself
You think that if i send the old checklist with no RFPR fee now, it'll work?
I want to delay and also don't have the money to spare at this point in time... just bought a new Honda City last week. so, totally drained out...
@ charmeuse - you paid the RFPR in INR @ 19900 or CAD 490?
I sent in my documents on March 30, 2009. I only discovered the new list a few days ago, so I'm not sure when this was actually published.
About sending in the RPRF now, I'm not sure what would be a good advice, since I don't know how they'll treat it.
Congrats on ur Honda City, by the way!
sure..
thanks..

an autmatic in Indian road conditions is a blessing straight from heaven...
I've posted my question on the forum. I hope someone will reply.
@ aanbaan, now I think I'm in a position to advise you better :-( Comply with each and every request. Don't give them a chance to reject.
Also, I feel the RPRF fee is better paid in INR, mainly because of the fact you'll save a few bucks there. CAD has been on the rise recently.
I think the fees that are mentioned in your visa office are not RPRF because all visa offices sent letters requiring for the medical and RPRF in one go.
Cheers
