Hi, on the CIC website, it says police ceritificates have to be sent in no later than 3 months before I send in application.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

Notice on the website, the way the site is worded, it seems as if these are instructions for the person being sponsored, not the sponsor. Therefore, it would seem this website is saying the FBI thing can't be older than 3 months before the sponsored person's application is received. But the thing is, it takes 2-3 months for the sponsor to get approved, then the sponsored person's application is sent. But by the time the sponsored person's application gets sent, 2-3 months would've passed already, and that only gives me a few weeks or less before the FBI ceritficate is no good.

My question is, when the CIC says 3 months before application is receieved, do they mean the sponsor's application, or the sponsored person's application? Thanks

Both parts of the application are submitted together to the processing office as one package. They means that the FBI certificate cannot be more than three months old when that combined package is first received.
