Hello guys, so I've read on this forum that getting FBI PCC through Indian channeler is illegal for Non-USC or GC. I lived in US for 2 years on F-1 & need my PCC in order to apply. Now, should I apply via the channeler or do it on my own? Is it really illegal to apply through channeler in my case? Because a directive is not a legal statute, it's just a recommendation. Im not sure if not following a recommendation is breaking the law. Also, if I do apply on my own & submit receipts as the people suggest, would my application be kept on hold or would it move forward with an option of submitting this PCC when I enter Canada? 16 weeks is 4 months & thus too long, not to mention that I had bad experiences with USPS on my OPT card.
I got my ppc in 4 hours at the ny Indian embassy as did many others. They generally keep your passport for a couple of hours and print the ppc for you.

Oh ok cool. However, I'm not currently in US. I moved back to India in the September last year. I'm planning to send my FBI PCC application through agencies here which claim to give PCC within 1-2 weeks. I will manage the India PCC but getting US FBI PCC is something that really worries me due to the huge timeline (16 weeks). I just want to get it on time.
