What do I send in as a receipt to show my husband sent in his application for FBI clearance? We are just sending in the application today and filled in the credit card authorization form.
How can we prove we applied for the FBI clearance? Will we receive a $18 receipt soon or do some people just send in the receipt from the fingerprinting place? Please advise.
I really appreciate your assistance!!! This forum is so helpful.
In my case it was a Russian Police Certificate, not the FBI, but I copied my entire application for the background check (application forms, copies of money orders, etc.) and also sent CIC the xpress-post tracking number and a screenshot proving that my application reached the Russian consulate.
I'd include the receipt from the fingerprinting place, too, I guess. (I think the $18 receipt was sent to me only with the FBI clearance paper, not earlier.)

no you won't receive a receipt from the FBI. you will want to include proof you applied for a record in your original application. "Proof" can simply be a letter or explanation and/or a copy of the cashier's check to the dept of treasury, as well as a copy of the actual application sent and/or CC charge form (blacking out acct info of course). If you sent the request by registered mail or return receipt, show a copy of the receipt from the post office.
if you have already sent in your application, then you don't need to send CIC anything at this point.

Didn't have a chance to copy it before hubby sent if off. I guess he can write a letter re- when we sent it, when approximately it will arrive and that we will forward the letter as soon as we receive it. I will also include the fingerprint & post office receipt.
happy My hubby got two prints done (just in case) and the receipt from the police detachment states $20 ( for: fingerprints). He also sent it by priority mail and it includes the FBIs mailing address. Along with a small letter I should be fine for proof that it was completed? This application process is tiring and I can't wait until I get to post this whole application out!

I'm sending mine fedex overnight Monday afternoon, as soon as they finish the physicals. I need this packet away from my over obsessing eyes, which continually try and find fault with it!
