What supposed to I use as my family name. My passport just has given name on it. My other documents (work permit, study permit) have family name on it. Should I use family name from other documents or leave family name blank.

Better to go as per the Passport, but how come Workpermit has family name when you don't have on Passport

Family name means your Last Name.

My husband does not have family name/surname on any document. When i am leaving it blank it gives error. He does not have last name on any document. so what suppose i fill up there because form does not allow to leave it blank ?

As per http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=014&t=4 all given names should be written in Family name field, leaving Given name filled with N/A
