Hi, I would like to have comments or suggestions. Regarding family ties. I have a daughter in Canada who is on PGWP. And now I am applying for a student permit. Should I mention in my letter about my daughter or just mention my family here in my home country. My husband, 2 children and mother are my family here in my home country. Your comments mean a lot. You should mention your daughter. Don't hide anything. If you hide something so relevant, there will be consequences.

Thank you for the advise. I do not intend to hide. And it will also be seen in the Family Information. But I will also mention in my letter of explanation as per your advise.

Demonstrate social and financial ties. Be honest. Do not explain about it in the SOP, info in the Family Information is sufficient.

My parents are Canadian citizens and I received AIP, was fully approved in the GCMS notes. Applied through a lawyer, got it in the first attempt.

I belong to a rare case scenario and I researched and did my homework based on this forum for almost over 3 years before applying.

Alright, I figured there was some reason you didn't become a PR/citizen through your parents.

Alright, I figured there was some reason you didn't become a PR/citizen through your parents.

They changed the dependent age bar to under 20 from 22 and reverted it. Many were affected including me during that period and I wasn't aware of the lock in age at that time and either way I was a full-time student, hence the PR went down the drain.

A bit off-topic but I assume you're married or well over age 22?

I was refused once and want to re-apply. The reasons are: Family ties, purpose of visit & career progression. Any insight is a great help. I was approved tourist visa once to visit my daughter without the question of family ties. I also have travel history in US several times. Thank you.
