Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I am a Canadian citizen. My wife and son came to Canada on a visit visa and now they are living with me. I applied for their visit visa extension and restoration of status but it was refused as I didn't provide the proof of entry into Canada. CIC didn't give them any date to leave the country in the refusal letter. So now they have no status in Canada.

I am preparing their in-land sponsorship applicationa. While going through the information guid, I read the following on page 3.

"A foreign national cannot become a permanent resident in Canada if he or she is inadmissible for reasons other than lack of legal immigration status in Canada. A temporary resident permit (TRP) holder is inadmissible unless the circumstances that lead to the issuance of the TRP are resolved."

"Must resolve the circumstances that resulted in the inadmissibility (other than those from lack of status) before submitting an application for permanent residence. Refer to the Guide for Temporary Resident Permit Holders: Applying to Remain in Canada as a Temporary Resident Permit Holder (IMM 5554)".

Can someone explain to me what does this mean and how can it affect our case?

I will appreciate your replies.
Thanks

Its saying that her visit visa was refused because you did not supply her entry date to them.So when you do the sponsorship app include another TVP in the app but supply them with her entry date this time.Once it has reached first stage approval she should(may be) issued a new TVP.

A TRP is not the same as a TRV. A TRP is a ministers permit, often issued for H&C reasons to people who have not been approved for a TRV.

Get your inland application together asap and then send it along with her restoration of status, TRV application and application for an open work permit upon first stage approval and hope for the best and provide the entry date this time.
