Hi, first time poster.
I'm looking into migrating to Canada via the Family Sponsorship option. My sister is a permanent resident in Toronto, soon to gain her full citizenship (yay). She is willing to sponsor me and my partner for the move, however, a clause on the website has me a bit confused:

You (the person who wants to sponsor your relative) don't have a living relative you could sponsor instead, such as a:
  • spouse
  • common-law partner
  • conjugal partner
  • son or daughter
  • parent
  • grandparent
  • orphaned brother or sister
  • orphaned nephew or niece
  • orphaned grandchild
The parent part is what worries me, our parents are alive however they are not looking to move to Canada, is there a way to go around this clause? Maybe a letter from our parents stating that they are not interested in moving to Canada? Any help or recommendations would be awesome.

No. If your parents are alive, your sister cannot sponsor you.

If they're alive enough to write a letter, this means that you cannot be sponsored.

No - there is no way around this clause. Since your parents are still alive - your sister cannot sponsor you. You will need to qualify on your own through an economic immigration stream like Express Entry.
