So I'm not a canadian citizen, I'm not PR either. I'm a foreigner from Chile and I've been civil married to my wife from couple months ago here in Chile. We wanna do a spouse sponsorship soon, but the thing is that we're in Chile right now. We had a trip to Canada by the end of may, but it got cancelled.
My question is: I'm not a PR neither a citizen, but I'm married to a Canadian citizen. I know right now not everybody is allowed to go through the Canadian border, but it says there's an exception for "family members". I guess since we're married here it instantly makes us direct family members right?
I just wanna make sure I got it right, because we need to rebook our flight and I don't wanna book a flight that I won't be allowed to go into.
Thank you
I'm just not sure about this statement:
"For practical purposes, the denial of boarding applies to all foreign nationals, with some exceptions*, on flights to Canada.
.....They do not apply to:
....
an immediate family member of a Canadian citizen or of a permanent resident, i.e. spouse/common-law partner, child and/or a child of a child;"
What I get is that foreigners and not allowed unless they're immediate family members, but I'm not sure if it counts for us.
