Dear All,

My brother is a Canadian citizen, he is single, with no child and no other relative in Canada. He is a lonely Canadian. My mother passed away 2 years ago. My father is still alive living outside of Canada. I am the only sibling of my brother.

Immigration & Refugee Protection Regulations, Article 117 (1) (h), states that:

"a relative of the sponsor, regardless of age, if the sponsor does not have a spouse, a common-law partner, a conjugal partner, a child, a mother or father, a relative who is a child of that mother or father,
a relative who is a child of a child of that mother or father, a mother or father of that mother or father or a relative who is a child of the mother or father of that mother or father
(i) who is a Canadian citizen, Indian or permanent resident, or
(ii) whose application to enter and remain in Canada as a permanent resident the sponsor may otherwise sponsor."

As per the above regulation, it seems that he is entitled to sponsor me. I would appreciate if I can receive your opinions.

Thank you and regards.

You'd have to be orphaned and under 18.

He can't sponsor you, as your father is still alive and can be sponsored.
