My fiancé (sponsored party- work permit) and I (sponsor-canadian citizen) are getting registered early Dec.
Today, we asked two immigration consulting firms about family Class Sponsorships and left even more confused about inland and outland applications in regards to if during the application process we can go on our destination wedding (est: 1 year from now).
From my understanding, if you apply for inland then she will be eligible to apply for a open work visa of 2 years as the processing time which can take up to 18 months and limits her entry in and out Canada during the processing period. On the hand, outland applications maybe a tad faster, allows her to leave the country but once her work permit expires she can't work and must apply with her passport as a visitor to extend her stay legally in Canada.
Based on the above info, my questions are the following:
1. Is my understanding of the inland and outland applications on point in regards to entry in and out of Canada and working privileges.
2. Is it viable to use a consultant or immigration lawyer?
Any advice or answers would be very much appreciated.
Sorry but what do you mean getting registered when you say you are not getting married until this time next year ? Is your fiance already in the country on a work or study permit given there is no such thing as a fiance visa so spouse sponsorship does not apply unless married or in a common law relationship.
Unless you have a really complicated case as most here will advise no need to have a lawyer, granted forms can be confusing but are not that difficult given the guidance on the CIC site plus forums such as this for any questions.

*Registered* as being married legally in Canada this year under the marriage act with a commissioner and friends and family as witness but conducting a symbolic ceremony abroad next Year.
My Fiance currently has a work permit and works/resides within Canada. That's why we need to find out if we should proceed with an inland application or outland as we are confused on which one actually allows her to leave the country temporarily.
Also, since she has a work permit which is valid until next year will she be able to apply for the 2 year open work visa is she applied under the outland application?
