Family class sponsorship- applicant outside Canada employment change

I am a Canadian citizen and sponsoring my spouse (applicant) from Qatar.

My applicant wants to change his job and I have already sent my application to immigration.

By switching jobs will it impact the process of sponsorship? And who/how do I inform and make changes?

You do not need to update IRCC with his job change.

So I have just sent my docs for processing last week (March 8 2018) when will I get the approval for step 2?

Also, when do I link my application online? And how do I do that?

If you had sent the documents in a trackable post. You can check that to know when they receive it. From that date, it's about 8 weeks (give or take 2 weeks from that), for you to get to know about your AOR.
And it is only after that you'll be able to link you applications...
