Hi,
I am going to apply Open Work Permit with sponsorship application. I have a valid work permit currently (holiday&work visa, expires in July) but I am unemployed right now. So I want to stay in Canada with legal status while sponsorship application is under process. What I choose in third question to get it right? (form IMM5710)
3. Check the appropriate box or boxes to indicate if you are applying for:
A work permit with the same employer
An initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer
Restoration of your status as a worker
An initial or an extension of a temporary resident permit
Thank you!
What should my husband choose if he currently has an employer and would like to continue working after his IEC visa expires either with the same employer or a new employer?

Yes, he would prefer to continue working.
We read that applicants with IEC visa do not get implied status so we would like to submit for OPW and PR (Inland) as soon as possible, in the hopes that OPW arrives before his IEC visa expires.

It still seems to take ~ 4 months (after CIC receives the OWP and Inland application) to receive the OWP. Make sure that you pay the correct amount of $255 (total) for the OWP.

Would you happen to know which option should be ticked off for "I am applying for one or more of the following" in this case for IMM5710E - Extend my stay or remain in Canada as a worker?
And is it just this form and the fee receipt that should be included in the PR application?
My IEC visa expires in July. So I have 5 months to submit PR and OWP application before I lost valid status here in Canada.
Do you suggest to send application 4 month before IEC visa expires (in the next month)?
Would there be problems with status? And do I select also Temporary Resident Permit along with An initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer? Thank you!
