Extend Stay in Canada after getting POST Graduate Work Permit.

I am a Post Graduate Student from Algonquin College, I applied for my POst Graduate Work Permit and i received it also. Now i am trying to get a VISA in my passport as my student Visa was only for a year. I came here in September 2009 and now MY student Vist is getting over on 30th Sep. But i just received Work Permit Which allows me to work in canada till 13th August. Now i dont understand as to how to get my visas extended as these is no where i can find any answer to that.
I was just told to call the 1-888 number but it just does not help AT ALL.

I wanted to know as to how do i get a visa soo that i can travel out of India. What if i dont get my Student visa extended, can they still deport me
