Express Entry Reform is underway for International Students;
The government has given his final confirmation as to what he promised that additional points will be awarded to University graduates; hopefully 600 extra points
I'm so glad and excited; it can be inferred that's why the no. of invitation is very low from previous draws;
Canada would like to retain these international students who have studied only from a University in Canada; I invite all to consult the website of
fragomen for alerts;
May be this month, additional points might be awarded but anyway, it will be by the end of 2016
Yes, the government kept mentioning it before but now it has been confirmed; sorry I can't post link on this forum, although I've mentioned the alert source; google it;
The bad news is that we don't know when it will be implemented but the good news is that it has been confirmed;

Hopefully it will soon; I've seen on a law firm website mentioning that the government can amend the CRS criteria point easily as Express Entry is based on Ministerial Instruction; thus reforms can be easily implemented;
The issue is that we don't know when; may be the government is trying to eliminate the pre-2015 backlog and resolve refugee issue;
I'm confident it will be soon as the Minister mentioned they are almost done with refugees and backlog and said it will be 'SOON'
I can't find anything that states the confirmation from the government. There is no definite timeline and no concrete outline.
Hope is there, but no clear steps toward the program improvement for international students have been made yet.
I've put in the comment and the system said I'm not allowed;
There's a new article for May 24-27; you can also google "express entry reform underway Rui Chen" (it is a law firm which attended the Toronto Board....where Minister McCallum gave final confirmation for International Students);
"The great news is that we have a better idea of what to expect from the reform of both of these programs... the bad news? We have no idea of knowing when they will be implemented."
