Hi everyone!
My partner is a Canadian citizen and I'm thinking about applying for Express Entry instead of Family Sponsorship.
My question is: Will I get points for her brother being a Canadian citizen and living in Canada?
In the CIC website it reads:
10) Do you or your spouse or common law partner (if they will come with you to Canada) have at least one brother or sister living in Canada who is a citizen or permanent resident?
Note: to answer yes, the brother or sister must be:
- 18 years old or older
- related to you or your partner by blood, marriage, common-law partnership or adoption
Is it OK to consider those points or not?
Thanks!!!

Why are you not applying through Spouse VISA?
For Express Entry, you will get points for her brother being Citizen or PR.

I thought that applying through Express Entry would be faster and easier than Spouse....is it really of I'm better off with Spouse VISA?
Thanks!

I tried calculating CRS. If you apply through Express Entry FWSP, the applicant has to get CLB 9 in IELTS and should be Masters, then only applicant can get an ITA to apply. there are no points for Spouse being Canadian Citizen or PR holder.
Hypothetical data considered for the applicant:
Age : 31
Education in ECA: Masters
Experience : 3+ years
IELTS : CLB9 (8 7 7 7)
CRS : 458
Even with a half band difference in IELTS:
CRS : 400
I would request you to re-consider this.
