Need advice regarding "Continuous" clause for Work Experience
For the last 3 years, all my experience is US based and in Management Consulting.
1. I worked for Company A from "August 9, 2015 to July 15, 2016", which is about 11 months and 7 days
2. Then there was a gap, which is covered because I am pursuing my full-time Masters degree
3. Then, I started working and am still employed at Company B from "June 5, 2017 to Present", which is around 4 months
Since, my total Management Consulting experience is > 12 months , do I meet eligibility for Express Entry ?
Or, will I need to get at-least 12 months with my current employer and then apply?
(P.S - I also have 2 additional years of experience from India under a different NOC code working as a TL & Web Developer from September 15, 2011 to May 31, 2013). Does this help in anyway?
No, you do not meet the eligibility criteria for the FSW program with your work experience in the US. It is not about working for the same employer, the issue here is the break in continuity.
If your NOC for your work experience in India is 0, A or B you can use it as a primary NOC to fulfill the year of continuous work experience.
The NOC in India is A but it doesn't fall within the last 3 years as it is from September 15, 2011 to May 31, 2013. Also, it is in Web Development and I had a career change and now work as a Management Consultant. Can I just claim the points based on both professions and get eligible based on Web Development and then work in Canada as a Management Consultant ?
Also on the contrary, Don't we have the 2 requirements - One being you need to have alteast 1 year in continuity in last 3 years and then second being, minimum one year in last 10 years? Going with this, I won't be able to use the Web development experience because its not in the last 3 years.
As long as you pick your work experience in India as your primary NOC you'll meet the continuous work experience requirement.
Whether you're eligible under the FSW program not only depends on the above but also whether you meet the required 67 out of 100 points under the six selection factors.
In case I follow this route, Will I need to file additional amendments to work as a Management Consultant OR, I can find any kind of Job once, I enter Canada ?
I also worked on a Contract from February 6, 2017 to March 21, 2017 for NOC Type A job for Company X but since, its hard to get the documentation from this employer - Will it be fine if I don't mention it in the EE profile ?
Two Options:
1. Mention it in Work history and run the risk of rejection because of missing Job Responsibilities or other required info on Experience Letter?
2. Not to mention it in Work history and only Mention it in Explanation Letter or Personal History since, I cannot get appropriate documentation form this employer ?
Hello del,
I have a question. I have been working in an institution with four consecutive yearly contracts with six days gap each year. Coz my company's cycle is
1st June to 25th may. Then again new contract on 1st June for same job profile and same company. It has been for continuous four years. So am I not eligible for fsw???
