About how long is it currently taking to get PR application approved if applying from within Canada (assuming documents are complete)?

6 months average.

Does it mean it can take only 3 or 4 months for some people and say 8 or 9 months for some others? or it is usually really close to 6 months?

Yes, for someone it even took 1 month for others more than a year.

It really depends.

del is right ! and from what i've heard usually for inland applicants it is faster considering the fact that they are on PGWP's and all , usually 3-5 months i would say .

You mean if one already has a temporary work permit, the process may be faster?

umm no i mean in general as compared to FSW ,CEC PR process is faster

from the case I've observed so far, FSW tend to be faster than CEC since FSW Applications are reviewed by local visa office so the number of applications may be low for one specific location.

No really, based on the November eAPR thread, outland FSW applicants are processing at a much faster rate. Being inland applicants or a PGWP holder don't help much. It took my friend 9 months to get PPR, and he's an inland FSW with PGWP. It seems like if your applications are processed at certain LVOs, like NDVO, processing time will be fast.
