Express entry éligible?

1. Age 27, Single
2. Education: Masters of Engineering, Industrial
3. Work experience in India: Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering for 3 years 4 months
4. Canadian Experience: Technical Support Consultant at Sutherland Global Services for almost 7 months.
5. Currently doing an Internship at 311, Contact Center, City of Mississauga. Position: Statistical Analyst. Duration of Internship: 3 months
6. Chances of contract getting extended are high.

I would like to know if I can apply for Express Entry considering the fact that currently I am in a contract position. I am not so sure when then would offer me a permanent position. I think in order for them to offer me a permanent position I would need a PR.

Yes you can. You will need to get a good score in IELTS. You max out at age score and your education is good.
Begin your WES ECA as well.
Your Indian work experience will count provided you get a work experience letter from your employer as per NOC.
Your Canadian experience needs to be continuous of at least 1 year in order to claim points for Canadian work experience
