Exppired Indian Passport with Valid Visa

Hi everyone,

I have a some general questions regarding Indian passport. Say that I have a valid Canadian Visa on my Indian Passport that will expire in next 2 years, and due to change in my Indian address details, if I renew my Passport and received a new passport,

1. How will the existing Passport cancelled? will it be punched or slightly damaged or just marked as cancelled as a process of cancellation?
2. Can I inform BLS while applying passport to not to damage the VISA in it? will they consider that?
3. Can I travel back to Canada with this Cancelled Passport with Visa in it?

I'd like to keep the Visa without damage as I heard that Passport may be punched with a chance of Visa damage. Can anyone help me who recently faced this situation?
