Expired PR

Hello everyone. i know this question was asked many times already but heres my situation.
i have an expired PR and i need to travel to the UK. i have Philippine passport and also have UK visa. im planning to go there on last week of november.
can i leave canada with expired PR ? i already applied to renew my PR but the processing times wont make it in time. ive been a PR for 10years.

Yes, you can leave Canada.

You will need to have either a valid PR card or valid PR Travel Document to board the plane when you return to Canada.

so what i need to do is apply for PRTD when i arrive in the UK to use to enter in canada?

ill be flying from Vancouver, arent they gonna look for PR or its not necessary? just the passport in visa?

No one is going to look for anything when you leave.

When you return you need either the PR card or a PRTD. Yes, you would apply for the PRTD once you are in the UK.

oh i see. i thought PR was needed when leaving canada. im being paranoid. i just want to see my fiancee. so i dont have to do anything. just fly to uk and apply for prtd when coming back. got it. thanks abunch!
