Expired PR Card / Unfulfilled RO + Invitation for TRV

Hey there.

Would it be unwise for me to send an invitation letter with my recently expired PR card to my girlfriend? I'm a PR that hasn't fulfilled the residency obligations. I was away for over 5 years and only recently returned, shortly before my PR card expired.

My understanding is that I should lay low for two years in order to get renewed. Will the invitation call any attention to my situation?
