Hello
I have question about PR Card Renewal.
My parents got Immigration on 2011-04-01 and live for three month and then went back home.
they came back on 2012-10-11 for three month and went back. then they came back on 2015-07-30 and applied for PR Card Renewal on March 2017. their cards were expired in 2016.
their case is in Secondary Review.
1 - what are the chances they will get the Card renewed and they will not loose the PR Status?
2 - if they don't receive their cards until August 2018 they have spend three years in canada? can they apply for Citizenship ?
The math (not my strong suit) tells me that they had 21-22 months in Canada when they applied for renewal, leaving them short of RO.
3 months in 2012
18 months form 2015-1017 (August to March)
dates in 2011 would not be counted (outside of 5 years)
As it's in secondary, I would think that IRCC is in fact reviewing that and may be looking at revoking their status. Difficult to say until you hear from IRCC. Are they currently in Canada?
thanks for replying. before applying i made sure they are here more than two years in last five years before applying. .
only issue i see if they were not here for two years from the date they became immigrant until 5 years... from 2011-04-01 to 2016-04-01.
if their immigration status is revoked, what option do we have?
my mother is in Canada but Father left last month.

these are exact dates...
my father landed on 2011-04-01 and left after three months. then he came back on 18/10/2013 and left on 24/02/2014. then he came back on 31/07/15 and applied for Renewal on 24/03/2017.
my mother landed on 2011-04-01 and left after three months. then she came back on 11/10/2012 and left on 22/01/2013. then she came back on 31/07/2015 and applied for Renewal on 23/04/2017.
Hi, I am having an exemplary similar situation here, My parent's hardly meet any of the given obligations. Although they may qualify for H&C renewal. following series of illness and death in the family. they came in 2011 lived 3 months went back came back 2013 stayed 3 months and left haven't come back since. PR is expired. I would surely attempt to have their prtd applied but what are response time in such cases by Canadian immigration? any body knows?
