Hi,
I will be filing my petition in a couple of weeks during which my visitor's visa to US is expiring. Can i apply for renewal of US visit visa while my PR is being processed? I have been advised that there are more chances of visa being rejected until PR is processed. My question is if and how should I get my US visa renewed?
Are you talking about a Canadian permanent residence "petition" (as we don't usually refer to it as a petition), or are you applying for permanent status in the US? We don't deal with US immigration matters here - if you're applying for US permanent status, I'd suggest you visit visajourney.com
If you are applying for Canadian permanent residence, I don't see how that should have an adverse affect on you obtaining a renewal of your US temporary status. If you were trying to gain temporary status in Canada with a Canadian PR application in process, you might have a problem - especially if you were non-visa-exempt and required a TRV. Again, in terms of any status issues for the United States, you should ask at visajourney.com
Thanks.. i was referring to Canadian PR (sorry for the lingo)... my case should be filed in 2 weeks and simultaneously I have to apply for renewal of US visitior's visa.. On the US visa form they have a check box for "has anyone ever filed an immigration case on ur behalf"?
Was wondering if there could be an issue around it?
