Expiration of Temporary Work Permit - 90 Day Expiry - Waiting for LMO

My temporary work permit expired in January 2012 and I've stopped working. My employer mistakingly applied for a LMO 3 months before expiry instead of a work permit extension. He filed for a new LMO after the first was denied in February and we're waiting to hear the results. My 90 days is about up, and I was wondering if there were any consequences to living in Canada beyond the 90 day limit? Once we have the new LMO (assuming approval) I will flagpole it with the hopes of getting a new work permit. Thanks for your help.

You may get deported and banned for a long time if you overstay your visa. Simple as that.
