I am an expat, born and raised here in Saudi living on my dad's residence permit. I contacted a Canadian immigration agent and he informed me that expats get rejected a lot, especially ones that have never been to their home country like me.
He suggested I travel to the uk on visit visa and apply from the Canadian embassy there. Very expensive ordeal that I would much rather avoid.
What are the ways that I can prove that Ill be back here after I am done with my studies? My dad will be my sole sponsor and he's been working here for 20+ years. He doesn't think it will be an issue because he sponsored my sister to study in the UK and Malaysia with no problems
Complete and utter crap. I doubt the person you met was a legitimate CIC official (the ones that review your application and decide if you should be granted a visa) I am currently in Canada and I have numerous friends studying here that are just like you expats living in Saudi, UAE, Qatar..
