I recently got my COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence) and have been asked to move to Canada before December 2016.
I have a startup here in India and don't envisage a move for the next 2 years. I was planning to go to Canada, apply for my PR card and give my mailing address as that of my aunt in Toronto and then return to India.
If the PR card is mailed to me in India by my aunt, will it cause a problem when I try to re-enter Canada later using my PR card? (because the PR card creation date will be after the date I exited Canada)
Anyone who has been through a similar situation? Any help would be much appreciated.
Theres nothing wrong with leaving the country before you get your PR card, the only issue I see is that in having it mailed to you it may get lost during shipping. If you dont want to risk mailing your PR card, you can request a permanent resident travel document from your Canadian embassy. See details on document below
