Crap!!! £ to Canadian $ has dropped to 1.5!! My funds are no longer enough will that effect my application i.e. my proof of funds I sent being worth less the amount it should be??
Its now $1000 short it was $500 over when I sent it

no need to worry about it, the exchange rate varies day to day. BUT CHC has a standard exchange rate which on mentioned in their website. for example the running exchange rate in pakistan is around:
1 CAD$ = 84 Rupees
but CHC islamabad website states
1 CAD$ = 70 Rupees

Deposit some more money in your account...easy..
considering what Usman799 said, you will be alright as you had over 500 CAD when you submitted your application and according fluctuating exchange rates.

I'm wondering whether I should see if I can open a canadian $ account as the £ is on a massive slide!! Cant keep losing money at such a high rate

the exchange rate is form 15th October to onwards and the website was last updated on 5-11-2009. CHC changes the exchange rate around after six months.
Im more thinking for when we finally get over. If the £ goes down much more going to lose a lot of money!
I just am of the opinion this drop in value is going to continue but its working out whether to risk converting it now or not

If I were you, I would wait till the elections are over. The drop is mostly due to the "hung Parliament"!
But then, this is just my opinion.

AFAIK, The London office does not have an exchange rate chart. The Personal Net Worth statement (form) is something they usually ask you to fill out and send to them (if requested). It is in this form one write's the exchange rate used to convert the £ into Can$.
