I have secured a place in the 2 Year MBA program of Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto for semester starting Sep 2013. For the same, I had a few queries and wanted to know if someone can help:
1. I understand that I would need to show full tuition and 1 year living expenses to be eligible for visa (approx CAD 125,000). Currently most of my funds and my father’s fund is invested in government treasury bills issued by government of Pakistan. Can I show these treasury bills as proof of funds for funding my education or do I have to show the funds in my bank account only. The treasury bills are secured at a Bank under their custody service and they issue me a certificate of my holding.
2. I also have around CAD 20,000 saved as my provident fund / gratuity fund with my employer a large international Bank. These funds will be released when I resign from the Bank for my studies. Can these be shown as part of my proof of funds for funding my education.
3. In the Bank Account, is it mandatory for funds to be present for 4 months. If there are transactions where funds are coming in the account and then being invested in treasury bills would that be alright. However, the ending balance would show significant funds appearing for last 1 month to 15 days.
Would appreciate help from the members. I have searched many forums but no one seems to know the answers to the above.
