Hi,

I renewed my work permit in Oct 2015 at an airport border crossing. Is eTA included in renewals after August 1 2015 or do I still have to get it?

In india .... For work permit renewal you need to apply for work visa again - for ETA in India ...it stated from 15 March as well as its not implies on indian..

so file application of worker visa form (IMM-1295E)
 
you have valid permit , worker visa you have ...right.....

SO...ETA ???
