When I was a kid, I lived in Canada for a few years with my parents. I believe we overstayed our welcome but I do not know if we ever got a departure or a deportation order.
I would like to travel to Canada again as a tourist, but I am completely freaked out at the idea of getting into any immigration trouble.
My parents are no longer here so I can not ask them for such information.
I have looked eveywhere on the internet to find a data base with such information. But I haven’t found anything.
I am French, so I don’t need a visa to travel. I asked for my eTA and it was approved.
Do eTAs take into account deportation orders? Does it mean I can travel safely to Canada?
If it doesn’t, how can I know if I’ve had an immigration order of any kind?

When you applied for eTA, did you declare that you had been issued a removal order from Canada? If I'm not mistaken, that's one of the questions that's being asked when applying for eTA. If you did declare about being ordered to leave Canada, and they still approved your eTA, then you're good to go.
