Hello everyone,

I have noticed that the location of work permit that was indicted in the issued work permit incorrect, kindly any one help me what to do, as I need to do urgently renew my SIN & MSP. card which has already expired, just confused that can I renew it with the work permit I have got?

Thanks!

Amazingly enough, there's a form on the CIC website for requesting correction to your work permit. See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5218ETOC.asp

Keep a copy, and see if you can get the MSP folks to renew your coverage even with an error on the work permit. Unless you've changed employers, the SIN expiration is unlikely to matter to your employer, so you could check with Service Canada and see if they can accept the work permit with the error on it or you need to wait for the correction.

Good luck!

I would do whatever the rules say. If they say to send a copy, do so. When you get the updated document, destroy the incorrect original document.

Keep a copy of your application!

You must have a medical examination done in order to work with children. Did you have that done and submit your medical results along with the application?

I would contact CIC. Since you are inside Canada, you can use the Call Centre. But it does sound like you need to find out why and get it corrected.

That condition was put on your study permit because you have not had an immigration medical exam within the past year or it has expired. Contact the CIC call centre and ask what to do to get your medicals done. Not sure if you can just go get it done or you need a request but it will help if you let them know the type of work you will do.

In fact, up-front medicals for work permits (which includes jobs in health care and with children) are described on the CIC website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-temp.asp

It explains what needs to be done to obtain such an examination (and it is done up front).

You need to send the original work permit along with your application.
